Considered to be the toughest Lunchbox Locker on the market, the Spartan Locker is easily installed without any special tools or equipment. The locker makes this sound when it unlocks. It will probably make a clicking ratcheting sound when you make sharp turn and are off the gas, it is normal. If you already have the open carrier, I would put the locker in, you will love it. Dont get me wrong I ABSOLUTLY love my locker and wouldnt want to get rid of it, you just have to be careful in 2wd on snow and ice. We didnt have much snow once and I was driving on asphault and hit a large section of snow so I let off the throttle and that put me in a spin which throw me into the ditch and I flipped. on snowy roads in 2wd the rear end is real squirely and will fish tail real easy with light throttle, it got to where I didnt want to drive the jeep in the snow unless it was enough to use 4wd. OFF ROAD, there is no comparison, the locker is awsome! On road its fine BUT. To leave the LS or go locker, all I can do is tell you my experience when I went from ls to lockrite locker in the rear only. With a locker, they will spin in the same direction unless you turn the tire slow or give it a slight jerk in one direction to unlock it, then only one tire will spin. Yes, thats a LS, it is normal to be able to spin the tires in oppisite directions. ![]()
